Heraldry Decals & Design Commissions

CitadelSix Custom Design is a small, home-based, one-man venture, set up and run by a keen war-gaming modeller in the UK.

The important points to note about CitadelSix Custom Design are that:

• As of 1st January 2015, a flat rate fee of £36.00, including 20% EU VAT will be charged for all design commission work (this is subject to the new EU e-Services / Digital Services VAT legislation. See below). However, other than this fee, I don't charge for any of the actual time it takes to do the design work, chiefly because I actually enjoy the process of designing and creating the heraldry. And if I did charge an hourly rate, it would make the cost of the finished product prohibitive to my intended clientele.
• Custom-designed heraldry decals and decal-sets are unique to the client and therefore to the client’s miniature army. Obviously, the standard Fantasy and Historic decal-sets will not be unique.
• During the design process, I provide advice and suggestions to my clients, to ensure the finished heraldry is authentic and complies with the traditions of the heraldic art.   
• The prices I charge for the decal-sets primarily cover my production costs, such as the cost of the decal film, printing materials, etc.
• Due to the introduction of new European Union (EU) legislation, from 1st January 2015, all businesses supplying ‘digital services’ to customers within the EU will be required to pay Value Added Tax (VAT). The VAT will be paid to the customer’s country and charged at the rate applicable in that country.

Digital Services or e-Services include such items, as:

• Video on demand.
• Downloads of music and applications (‘apps’).
• Anti-virus software.
• e-Books.
• On-line auctions, such as, e-Bay.
• Gaming.

The above are examples and not a complete list. The list of Digital Services that fall within the scope of the new EU legislation is certain to grow and change with time.

As a result of this new EU VAT legislation, I am now obliged by law to charge VAT on all my products and services sold to customers within the EU, even though, under UK tax law, my business does not generate enough annual income to be required to pay VAT to the UK HMRC.
